SURVEY
AND TESTING
Most specifiers
and engineers are aware of the common causes
of concrete deterioration being carbonation
and chlorides.
Un-maintained structures and buildings
can become dangerous as steel reinforcement
corrosion commences and the expansive forces
create spalling and loose sections of concrete
to fall to ground.
Working in partnership with our
material suppliers we endeavour through inspection
and testing to formulate cost effective long
term maintenance solutions.
The tests we carry out to confirm
the corrosion state are:
- Carbonation Depth Testing
- Acoustic Hammer Test
Survey
- Cover-metre Survey
- Chloride Analysis
- Corrosion Rate
- Half Cell Potential
Our detailed surveys identify
the present state of the structure, accurately
detailing all defects, the corrosion rate, the
cause of deterioration and importantly a repair
specification and budget costs for future remedial
works.
Our detailed surveys are often
used by Clients, Surveyors and Engineers as
tendering documents.
This allows you the client to
have realistic refurbishment costs without the
fear of additional works spiralling out of control.
Alternatively we can carry
out “MAKE SAFE” inspections, removing
all loose and dangerous concrete from the structure
as a “PEACE OF MIND” short term
solution.
