Following
the successful completion of the survey and
repair of the external surfaces of cooling tower
1B during the latter quarter of 2004, Churchill’s
were pleased to be awarded the next cooling
tower to be surveyed and repaired at Ratcliffe
power station.
Towards the end of the month of April Churchill’s
are well underway with the survey and repair
of the external surfaces of the tower that is
anticipated will be over a 15-20 week period
with 12 operatives employed full time on the
tower for the duration of the contract.

Survey and Repair of the Air Fuel Bunds
The month of April saw Churchill
Refurbishment win the contract to refurbish
the concrete fuel bunds at the Sin Fin Rolls
Royce site in Derby. Directly employed by Air
BP, Churchill’s carried out extensive
repairs to the bund walls, installed new contraction
and expansion joints and applied a high performance
anti-carbonation coating. The project is within
days of completion and the client’s representative
Mr. Alex Daly has acknowledged his delight with
the professionalism of all involved with the
successful project.

Internal and External Repairs to Hanger

Churchill
Refurbishment Ltd is well under way with the
concrete repairs to Hanger 1 at RAF Shawbury.
The buildings main structural concrete cross
beams running some 75 linear Metres both sides
of the hanger are in urgent need of repair.
The works are being undertaken while the site
remains operational and the project is set to
run for 10 weeks.
